It’s in our name – Crew.<br><br><b>Purposeof the role:<br></b><p>As abuyer you will have responsibility for the buying and production ofthe Footwear and Accessories department, through management of the Footwear & Accessories Buying team, workingwith in partnership with Design, Merchandising and Technical. This rolemanages the process to ensure that the collections, once designed areappropriately developed, costed, and commercially assorted to deliver the bestcollection to Stores, E commerce and Wholesale partners in a timely manner.<br><br><b><u>Responsibilities</u><br></b><b>Accountablefor:</b></p><p class="MsoNormal"></p><ul><li>95% on time delivery through allchannels. </li><li>Direct line management of the product team at AB/BAA level, while reporting into Senior Buyer</li><li>Delivery of profitability of theassortment, adhering to intake margin targets set by Heads of Buying and Merch</li><li>Ability and confidence to workdirectly with HOB and Design Director on new season development</li><li>Maintaining and improving the productto ensure that it reaches the brand essence of Crew Clothing.</li><li>Delivery of balanced assortment todifferent grading of stores / marketplaces / E comm and wholesale partners</li><li>Ensure that assortment is deliveredto the Product strategy led by Design director and Trading director</li><li>Delivery of Range sign offs to Headsof and Directors with Senior Buyer</li><li>Deputise for Snr Buyer</li></ul><p class="MsoNormal"><b>Product</b></p><p class="MsoNormal"></p><ul><li>Work closely with design team toensure product is signed off and agreed.</li><li>Work in partnership withmerchandising in developing correct range mix & price architecture, givenhistory, competitor analysis & new sales insight.</li><li>Monitor and support Design’s productdevelopment through to Final Design sign off and SMS review </li><li>Work with Head of Buying to set theSupplier Strategy, evaluate key suppliers, strengths and weaknesses and evolve/rationalise accordingly within business parameters.</li><li>In collaboration with Head of Buying,identify key suppliers for both volume and quick response business to increasemargin, and ensure OTB demands / repeats can be delivered on time in season,when necessary.</li><li>Manage and negotiate prices with allsuppliers on set areas, ensuring seasonal strategy is met. Prepare documentsfor sign off with head of Buying and Business owner</li><li>Proactively problem solve any marginissues with key partners.</li><li>Work with the technical team toensure that all products developed and produced meets the brand essence andensure with the support of the technical team that core fits are maintained.</li><li>Understand the Crew customer andtheir aspirations, monthly visiting of stores with cross functional partnersand ensure competitor knowledge is always up to date.</li><li><span><br></span></li><li><span>Manage the VRP throughout theprocess, ensuring accurate and up to date information.</span></li><li>Ensuring any required changes toproduct are presented to Directors with clear information of issues and actionsproposed</li><li>Ensure signed off samples are lodgedand stored clearly in the product library for reference, and available forrelevant meeting.</li><li>Approve print and product lab dipswith Design, in line with the Crew brand essence.</li><li>Approve bulk fabric and trimsubmissions, in line with business CP</li></ul><p class="MsoNormal"><b>ProductCritical Path Management</b></p><p class="MsoNormal"></p><ul><li>Ensure suppliers are aware of thetimeline at the start of the season.</li><li>Manage team updates on Productcritical path – ensuring POs are correct on the system and reflect latestintake</li><li>Trade the dept – understand trade, soyou can react in season and cut/infill where you’ve had success and failure</li><li>Ensure that all marketing &Ecommerce collateral is correct and up to date in accordance to business CP.</li><li>Ensure 100% on time delivery ofaccurate salesman, product & shoot samples.</li><li>Support team in weekly critical pathreviews and offer guidance to junior members if the team.</li></ul><p class="MsoNormal"><b>PeopleManagement</b></p><p class="MsoNormal"></p><ul><li>Lead by example and communicate withclarity and consistency.</li><li>Ensure team is fully functioning andthat cross functional relationships are maintained.</li><li>Train and develop individual teammembers to improve their individual capabilities and deliver functionalexpertise.<br></li></ul><div><b>KeySkills and Experience<br></b></div><p class="MsoNormal"></p><ul><li>Experience in Buying with clear trackrecord of delivering margin improvement</li><li>Extensive experience of initiatingand developing direct sourcing relationships in product.</li><li>Knowledge if supplier negotiation andhave a proven track record of travelling alone to various sources across theglobe.</li><li>Technical expertise in garmentfabrication, construction and production</li><li>Market knowledge of clothingincluding competitor price architecture.</li><li>Strong commercial judgement</li><li>Self-motivated individual, capable ofdriving change at pace</li><li>Good understanding of supply base andrespectful way of working.</li><li>Passion for product.<br></li></ul><p><b>What we can offer you:</b></p><div><span class="ui-provider gq b c d e f g h i j k l m n o p q r s t u v w x y z ab ac ae af ag ah ai aj ak"><ul><li>Staff Discount</li><li>Uniform allowance</li><li>Pension scheme</li><li>Refer a Friend scheme</li><li>Training and career development</li><li>Supportive and rewarding culture</li></ul></span></div><p></p></div></div></div><!----><!---->
