<h2>About the role</h2><p>As a Depot Operative, you will be responsible for managing pick sheet orders from warehouse staff and management, accurately selecting inventory from shelves to fulfil orders. Tasks include packing orders, shrink-wrapping items onto pallets, and loading them onto trucks for timely delivery. Ensures all orders are correct, maintains up-to-date inventory records, and contributes to efficient warehouse operations. Additionally, delivers goods to customer premises, verifies delivery accuracy, obtains signed documentation, and collects any returned items. Provisional start date 10/05/2025.</p><h2>Main Responsibilities</h2><ul><li>Manage picking sheets to ensure accurate order fulfilment.</li><li>Select warehouse items based on specifications such as size, colour, quantity, and quality.</li><li>Verify order accuracy before processing for delivery.</li><li>Prepare and stage items appropriately for dispatch.</li><li>Operate handling equipment while adhering to safety protocols.</li><li>Plan and oversee product storage, replenishment, and dispatch.</li><li>Monitor stock control systems to process specific orders efficiently.</li><li>Ensure warehouse targets and performance goals are achieved.</li><li>Maintain compliance with health and safety standards at all times.</li><li>Securely shrink-wrap products onto pallets for shipment.</li><li>Load delivery vehicles safely and efficiently.</li><li>Deliver goods to customer premises, ensuring accuracy and professionalism.</li><li>Assist driver operatives as needed.</li><li>Verify goods with customers and ensure documentation is completed accurately.</li><li>Pack warehouse orders as required to support team operations.</li><li>Utilise scanners to ensure accurate inventory management and order picking.</li><li>Perform general warehouse duties and other tasks as required.</li></ul><h2>You will need</h2><ul><li>Strong attention to detail to ensure order accuracy and inventory management.</li><li>Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects safely.</li><li>Capability to remain standing and active for extended periods.</li><li>Positive and proactive attitude with a strong work ethic.</li><li>Self-motivated and able to take initiative in completing tasks.</li><li>A strong focus on safety and adherence to workplace safety protocols.</li><li>Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.</li><li>Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and interacting with customers.</li><li>Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Desirable:</strong></p><ul><li>Previous experience in warehouse operations is preferred but not required.</li><li>FLT certificate</li></ul><h2>What's in it for you</h2><ul><li>Employee discounts after 3 months, such as:</li><li>A Booker colleague card with 10% off purchases at Booker and double discount events up to three times a year.</li><li>A Tesco colleague discount card with 10% increasing to 15% off most purchases at Tesco thirteen times a year.
