<h2>About the role</h2><p>This is a senior analytical role involved in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, including long-term planning, for Booker. The role works closely with the wider finance team to co-ordinate, consolidate, analyse and challenge the budgets &amp; forecasts proposed.</p><p>It will be required to work with the Tesco FP&amp;A team to ensure deadlines are met and queries are answered and resolved. There will also be involvement in some period end reporting activities. The role will be play a key part in driving forward the ongoing FP&amp;A agenda in Booker.</p><h2>Main Responsibilities</h2><ul><li>Management and co-ordination of the budgeting &amp; forecasting process including:<ul><li>Preparation of timetables, submission templates and consolidation models.</li><li>Consolidation, review and analysis of inputs received from the Finance team.</li><li>Submission of excel templates to Tesco FP&amp;A to required timetable.</li><li>Preparation of presentations of budget &amp; forecast output for Exec and other meetings.</li><li>Ongoing improvement and development of budget &amp; forecasting processes and models.</li></ul></li><li>Management and co-ordination of the financial submissions for the long-term plan (LTP).<ul><li>Preparation, maintenance and continual improvement of the consolidation model for the LTP financial data.</li><li>Consolidation, review and analysis of inputs received from the Finance team.</li><li>Submission of excel templates to Tesco FP&amp;A to required timetable.</li><li>Involvement in preparation of presentations as required.</li></ul></li></ul><ul><li>Ownership for the calculation and reporting of statutory sales.<ul><li>Calculation of periodic statutory sales split between key business areas, identifying LFL movements and splitting between inflation and volume/mix movements.</li><li>Reporting of statutory sales to Tesco FP&amp;A, including commentary on drivers of variances, via the ‘flash’ process.</li><li>Preparation of quarterly ‘SIP’ file for submission to Tesco FP&amp;A to be used in the external market reporting.</li><li>Preparation of the PowerPoint document for verification and sign-off of the Booker numbers and narrative included in the quarterly market reports.</li></ul></li></ul><ul><li>Other period end tasks.<ul><li>Reconciliation of the BRP sales between SAP and the sales &amp; margin reports.</li><li>Allocation of all levels of Commercial Gross for BRP into the brands.</li><li>Preparation of the indicative P&amp;L by customer &amp; channel including calculation of the cost allocations and input into TM1.</li><li>Preparation of the periodic sales development slide for the Management Accounts.</li></ul></li></ul><h2>You will need</h2><p><strong>Experience relevant for this job:</strong></p><ul><li>Qualified accountant.</li><li>FP&amp;A experience preferred.</li><li>Strong communication and presentation skills.</li></ul><p><strong>Skills relevant for this job</strong></p><ul><li>Commercial acumen and Know How and Inquisitive.</li><li>Desire to learn / add value / drive progress.</li><li>Excellence in building positive relationships, whilst robustly challenging norms.</li><li>Intermediate/Advanced Excel skills.</li><li>Strong tech and business analytics skills.</li></ul><h2>What's in it for you</h2><p>At Booker, along with being a great place to work and giving you an opportunity to get on in your career, we also offer the following fantastic package of benefits:</p><ul><li>A Booker colleague card with 10% off purchases at Booker and double discount events up to three times a year.</li><li>After 3 months service, a Tesco colleague discount card with 10% increasing to 15% off most purchases at Tesco for a 4 day period after every four-weekly pay day, ie. thirteen times a year.
