Our core business hours are Monday to Friday – 10am to 3pm with a flexible approach to start and finish times</p><p>Our hybrid working model is 3 days in the office, 2 days working from home</p><p><u><strong>Overall purpose</strong></u></p><p>A restructuring within the Finance team has led to the creation of a fixed-term contract role, focused on preparing statutory financial statements. Sets of statutory financial statements will be required under FRS 102 for all entities in the Hobbycraft group, as follows:</p><ul><li>MACRAME HOLDCO LIMITED (consolidated group) – first year accounts</li><li>MACRAME MIDCO LIMITED – first year accounts</li><li>MACRAME BIDCO LIMITED – first year accounts</li><li>HOBBYCRAFT GROUP LIMITED (consolidated group)</li><li>STITCH 2 LIMITED</li><li>STITCH 3 LIMITED</li><li>STITCH BIDCO LIMITED</li><li>HOBBYCRAFT TRADING LIMITED</li></ul><p>The Financial Reporting Accountant will respond to external audit queries relating to the financial statements and reflect auditor feedback as required.</p><p><u><strong>Essential skills </strong></u></p><ul><li>A relevant accounting qualification (CIMA/ACCA/ACA).</li><li>A competent user of Microsoft Excel and Word.</li><li>In-depth knowledge of FRS 102, including experience of preparing group consolidations and an understanding of statutory disclosure requirements.</li><li>Experience of preparing statutory financial statements to a high standard for a group of companies of substantial scale and complexity, as well as liaising with external auditors to address queries and reflect their feedback.</li></ul><p><u><strong>Key accountabilities</strong></u></p><p>Working closely with the Head of Finance and Management Accounts team, the Financial Reporting Accountant will prepare the February 2025 trial balances for year-end and two group consolidations for statutory reporting purposes, making use of pre-existing Excel models. In addition to preparing the primary statements and the notes to the accounts for all entities, the role will involve preparing a first draft of the front half of annual reports by reference to best practice guidelines and by using information obtained from the CFO, Head of Finance, Head of Commercial Finance and various other stakeholders across the business.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Whilst the role would suit a contractor who is used to working in a standalone capacity, it will be necessary to collaborate closely with the Hobbycraft Finance team to ensure that the annual reports are accurately prepared.
