<p><span></span></p><p><strong><span><span></span>We have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Buyer to join our Pets team at B&amp;M.&nbsp;This role is full time, office based at our Support Centre in Speke.</span></strong></p><p><span>This is a perfect opportunity for an established Assistant Buyer looking for the next step in their career, or a Junior Buyer looking for a new opportunity. You will be ambitious, driven and thrive in a fast-paced environment. A passion for retail and a desire to make a difference is a must – also a big advantage if you have a passion for Pets!&nbsp; &nbsp;</span></p><p><span>Reporting to the Senior Buyer, you will source products that will appeal to our customers. You will also engage and negotiate with suppliers to ensure we have the best range, prices and promotions in the market. This a great buying role to help you develop your Buying experience, with one of the fastest growing retailers in the market.</span></p><p><span><strong><span>The key accountabilities in the role are:</span></strong></span></p><ul type="disc"><li><span>Source and manage the product range from initial concept until completion, both from the UK and Far East sources on own label</span></li><li><span>Work with some of the biggest household brand names to ensure we are first to market on new products and have a strong promotion programme</span></li><li><span>Weekly review sales of new and existing lines, deciding with the Senior Buyer what lines we should keep or take out of the range</span></li><li><span>Build a strong activity plan for the year that maximises key seasonal events</span></li><li><span>Work closely with the merchandiser and suppliers to ensure Critical Path is up to date on key events</span></li><li><span>Plan &amp; prepare with the Senior Buyer ranges for sign off with the Buying Director</span></li><li><span>Work with the Buying Assistant and Design Team to develop own brand artwork for approval</span></li><li><span>This JB role will have buying responsibility for 3 different subcats – so a great opportunity to step up to the next level in preparation for Buyer level</span></li></ul><p><span><strong><span>The ideal candidate will have the following experience/skills:</span></strong></span></p><ul type="disc"><li><span>Currently in an Assistant or Junior Buyer position and possess st<span>rong negotiation, communication, interpersonal and influencing skills</span></span></li><li><span>FMCG (Pet) experience/knowledge would be an advantage but not essential</span></li><li><span>Must have a growth mind set, be willing to learn on the job and enjoy having responsibility and accountability for your P &amp; L</span></li><li><span>Able to build and maintain effective and productive relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers</span></li><li><span>Able to utilise data to fully understand customer behaviour and habits and have good excel skills</span></li><li><span>Attention to detail&nbsp;with the ability to manage multiple tasks at once and to work well under pressure</span></li></ul><p><span>We&nbsp;also offer you a range of great benefits at B&amp;M including discount in our stores (including Heron), access to our colleague portal which offers additional discount for retailers, hospitality &amp; much more!&nbsp;Check out our full benefits here –&nbsp;<a href="https://careers.bmstores.co.uk/our-bm-benefits/">https://careers.bmstores.co.uk/our-bm-benefits/</a></span></p><p><span><strong><span>If you are looking for a new challenge within an ambitious, growing business,&nbsp;apply online today!</span></strong></span></p><p><span><em><span>B&amp;M Retail are an equal opportunity employer.
