<div class="clearfix"></div><h1 class="job-title axiom0-0 axiom-scraped-0">Permit and Facilities Engineer</h1><div></div><div></div><div></div><div><p>Howdens is recruiting a Permit and facilities Engineer to join our team at Howdens Work Surfaces, our solid surfaces production facility in Holme on Spalding Moore, East Yorkshire.</p><p>Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day site contractor management and control plus general facilities management. The role is also responsible for fire safety, technical and environmental legislative compliance and procedures.</p><p>As a Facilities Engineer, you will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills along with the experience to supervise multi-disciplinary teams including maintenance, grounds and contract workers. The role is operational so will require a hands-on approach as required.</p><p><strong>Shift | </strong>Monday to Friday, 8 am – 4:30 pm with flexibility (Occasional weekend work may be required)</p><p><strong>Salary</strong> <strong>| Band B |</strong> £42,137.68 Per Annum</p><p><strong>What will you be doing as a Permit and Facilities Engineer:</strong></p><ul><li>Ensuring facilities are compliant to all legislation, codes and standards with respect to Security, Safety, Health and Environmental management</li><li>Developing, implementing and maintaining effective contractor control engineering and maintenance procedures adhering to safety, technical, legislative and group standards</li><li>Responding appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise and deal with the consequences</li><li>Calculating and comparing costs for required goods or services to achieve maximum value for money</li><li>Ensuring safety procedures are followed on site for contractor control and permit to work management</li><li>Issuing permits to contractors and on-site staff, including audits on contractors</li><li>Quality testing of onsite water</li><li>General site maintenance (doors/lighting/plumbing)</li><li>Actioning BES remedial work from compliant inspections</li></ul><p>&nbsp;<strong>What do you need to qualify for the Permit and Facilities Engineer: </strong></p><ul><li>Level 2/3 NVQ in an engineering discipline</li><li>Electrical background – desirable</li><li>Strong decision-making skills with experience in a manufacturing environment</li><li>Experience in technical and environmental legislation and processes that ensure compliance</li><li>Strong working knowledge of CDM (Construction Design &amp; Management)</li><li>Project management, budget and finance control</li></ul><p>There will be job specific training so you must be flexible to attend training sessions as and when required.</p><p><strong>What can we offer you:</strong></p><ul><li>Competitive Salary &nbsp;</li><li>Pension Plan with&nbsp;maximum company contribution of 12%</li><li>25 days holiday + bank holidays + opportunity to purchase up to 5 more days</li><li>Free onsite car parking</li><li>Friendly and supportive environment offering exceptional reward and recognition</li></ul><p><strong>About Us:</strong></p><p>Howdens Joinery is the UK’s number one trade kitchen supplier providing thousands of products across kitchens, joinery, and hardware.
