<p><span></span></p><p><strong><span>We have an exciting opportunity to join our NEW Distribution Centre in Ellesmere Port as a Transport Shift Manager.</span></strong></p><p><span><br>This role follows a <strong>4 on 4 off pattern from 6 am – 6 pm.</strong></span></p><p><span><br>You will be <strong>managing a team of drivers and clerical colleagues</strong>, motivating the team to ensure the transport operation hits its targets.</span></p><p><strong><span>Key Accountabilities:</span></strong></p><ul type="disc"><li><strong><span>Manage a team</span></strong><span> of drivers and clerical colleagues to ensure they work within company guidelines.</span></li><li><strong><span>Monitor performance</span></strong><span>, ensuring the operation achieves high standards and hits <strong>KPI targets</strong>.</span></li><li><span>Encourage <strong>two-way feedback and ideas</strong> aimed at improving work practices.</span></li><li><span>Ensure compliance with the <strong>Road Traffic Act legislation</strong>, <strong>EU Drivers’ Hours Rules</strong>, and the <strong>Working Time Directive (RTD)</strong>.</span></li><li><span>Conduct effective, in-depth driver <strong>Pre-Briefs</strong> and <strong>De-Briefs</strong> at the start and end of every driver shift.</span></li><li><span>Monitor <strong>performance</strong>, <strong>timekeeping</strong>, <strong>overtime</strong>, and <strong>sickness levels</strong> of drivers, taking appropriate action when necessary.</span></li><li><span>Manage and maintain <strong>all yard operations</strong>, ensuring a team of <strong>shunters</strong> delivers an efficient and timely <strong>shunt/yard function</strong>.</span></li></ul><p><strong><span>What We Need from You</span></strong></p><ul type="disc"><li><strong><span>Shift Manager experience within a Transport background</span></strong><span> is <strong>essential</strong>.</span></li><li><strong><span>Excellent leadership, team-building, and motivational skills</span></strong><span>.</span></li><li><strong><span>Previous retail customer experience</span></strong><span> is ideal.</span></li><li><strong><span>Energy, flexibility, and commitment</span></strong><span> to succeed in a challenging environment.</span></li></ul><p><span>We offer <strong>great benefits and development opportunities</strong> at B&amp;M.
