Reporting to the Warehouse Operations Manager 10.00pm-06.00am, 06.00am-2.00pm and 2.00pm - 10.00pm</strong></p><p><strong>Due to growth within the DC a new leadership structure and opportunities have arisen for 3 Shift Managers working permanent Earlies (x1 person) or Lates (x1 person) or Nights (x1 person) &nbsp;within the Warehouse Operation.</strong></p><p><strong>Leading &amp; developing a team, promoting a culture of continuous improvement &amp; efficiency, whilst maintaining and enhancing KPIs to achieve operational, financial and service targets. Adopting a&nbsp;</strong>Health, Safe &amp; legal mindset at all times.</p><h2>Main Responsibilities</h2><p>Responsible for leading &amp; developing a team, promoting a culture of continuous improvement &amp; efficiency, whilst maintaining and enhancing KPIs to achieve operational, financial and service targets.</p><ul><li>Take accountability and ownership for health &amp; safety on shift and help to create a safety-minded culture on site.</li><li>Management of costs and productivity, assisting the site to achieve budgets including controlling stock loss.</li><li>Deliver excellent service level to our customers&nbsp;</li><li>Being a positive role model and leader to a team of Team Managers, Warehouse Operatives and clerical colleagues through Winning Manager behaviours.</li></ul><h2>You will need</h2><ul><li>Previous experience of FMCG distribution&nbsp;</li><li>Ability and evidence of building strong and sustainable efficient teams (essential) &nbsp;</li><li>Strong People Management skills with the ability to support, coach and mentor</li><li>Good listening and feedback / communication skills</li><li>The ability to work as part of a wider team to ensure delivery of service levels to customers&nbsp;</li><li>Knowledge &amp; experience of warehousing management systems (essential)&nbsp;</li><li>Working knowledge of employment legislation</li><li>Experience in managing operational costs and continual improvement initiatives&nbsp;</li><li>Considerable knowledge of logistics demonstrated over a number of years within a distribution environment (desirable)&nbsp;</li><li>GCSE or equivalent&nbsp;</li><li>IOSH qualification</li><li>Attention to detail and proficient in Microsoft Office (essential)</li></ul><h2>What's in it for you</h2><p>At Booker, along with being a great place to work and giving you an opportunity to get on in your career, we also offer the following fantastic package of benefits:</p><ul><li>A Booker colleague card with 10% off purchases at Booker and double discount events up to three times a year.</li><li>After 3 months service, a Tesco colleague discount card with 10% increasing to 15% off most purchases at Tesco for a 4 day period after every four-weekly pay day, ie. thirteen times a year.
